I’m going to Chicago in a couple of years, I think, so good luck to me! I’m trying to get as people-oriented as possible, so I won’t be getting a culture shock when we migrate (I don’t think I will, though. ;)) Also, I’ll be drinking myself to death there, with Marco most hopefully, and have my first I’m-so-drunk-I’m-crawling-home experience. Nikki also wants me to buy her a Clandestine hoodie with a Bartskull (y’know…that bat logo of Pete Wentz’s). I promised her I would.
Our school has what I’d like to call our Fall-Winter Drama. I auditioned yesterday and sang a really modern song even if the ones auditioning sang old-fashioned classics. I acted out Mercutio’s dying scene from Romeo and Juliet, since I was familiar with it and it made for great face extorting. The list of those who passed will be up on Monday. I’m excited!
Also, I’ve been thinking a lot about my so-called friends, then I realized that I don’t really have a best friend. I’d like to know, what are your requirements or expectations from a friend?

Being with Nikki is a fun experience. I call her my long-lost twin but really, we’re just friends. She’s a seventh grader I met during the Intramurals, when I was hanging out with my seventh grade friends.
She’s a Fall Out Boy fanatic. And she’s a techie too. (I can’t relate much to the first part, since I fell out of love with FOB a long time before Pete did the Hilton thing) We’re so very alike that I call her my long lost twin.
Anyways, I almost got picked last in gym because my posse isn’t known for being good at volleyball. We do basketball and stuff, but I hate service in vball, so I don’t play much. But I’m with my other friend Yssa anyway, so it’s pretty fun!
Pardon me being weird and jumping from subject to subject. I think I’ve had too much Cadbury.

Yeah. Yesterday and today, we had to recite a monologue on Romeo and Juliet. The catch? We can’t pick Romeo or Juliet, plus we have to modernize the monologue! Six was the minimum number of lines. I picked Lord Capulet’s short speech, where he reprimanded Juliet when she didn’t want to be married to Count Paris. It was really funny, because I was all red-faced, and flaming, and I even had a British accent! I had a take two, because the first time I started talking, someone snorted and I just had to laugh. The second time I got it almost perfectly. I skipped two lines without intending to; it’s just that when I’m performing, the adrenaline rush is too much that I can’t think straight anymore. Seriously. Glad to say I got an A+.
Catherine was absolutely brilliant. She bravely attempted on Mercutio’s Queen Mab. Ever watched the Franco Zeffirelli movie version of Romeo and Juliet? Her performance was sort of like that, especially towards the end. She got an A+ too. Well, what did you expect from someone who’s been in theatre for her entire life?
Anyways, it’s mah birthday next Monday. Huzzah! GREET ME! XD Also, I’ve been sweating my brains out on WeffRiddles, which is a bloody good site.
Give it hits!

I was able to buy Pupil’s newest album, Wildlife, due to having sore eyes.
And here is my review, after just two spins of the CD.
First impressions matter. The packaging and design are killers. Like I told Sue, “Must congratulate Dok and Mia.” Also there are some hidden meanings and words. Natawa na lang ako sa kay Yani.
Guitarist Yani said that “maninibago talaga yung mga fans” because of their new sound. I admit that after first hearing Sala on the radio, I was surprised by the new mood. I mean, the songs are still about love, but now the mood is lighter compared to Beautiful Machines. (I like it, I like it a lot!)
Wildlife starts off with Fin, a track by Diane. It’s the perfect beginning - an ending song. I’ve always been a fan of irony. Anyways, it’s one of the few soft tracks in the album, not to mention the shortest but nevertheless a good opening, making way for Matador. The best part is the bridge, where Diane and Ely harmonize together. It’s so good it gives me goosebumps. The drums are great too.
Monobloc reminds me of the Eraserheads. I like the way Ely sings the chorus (”Pagka’t ngayong gabi’y puno ng alaala/Sabay nating saluhin/Anumang itapon ng bukas sa atin”) - it’s makes me shiver, although the message of the song is very positive.
On Here I Go Again, Pupil sounds like a foreign band. Seriously. It took a few repeats for the song to sink in. But I liked the creepy background voices.
Congratulations to Yan - you ARE the very bestest in the westest. Talon is my favorite song from this album. It has nice lyrics that I can relate to (hey, I think there’s a similarity between this and Spoliarium, another fave) and a catchy hook - too catchy, in fact, that I can’t stop singing it! Even my 7-year-old brother is singing along. xD Also, Yani’s voice has greatly approved. The next track, Sumasabay, is a good collaborative effort. I like the chorus; this is a great sing-along tune. I can already imagine fans waving their hands and singing in mall tours.
Animal Lover is another repeat track. I played it five times over just to let the song sink in. Nevertheless, I love singing “She’s the last of a dying breeeed…”
Teacher’s Pet is…CUTE! :P It starts off with a simple riff, and then lyrics embedded with school-related words (grade…cramming…indoctrinate). The chorus has a nice tune, masarap sabayan. Then there’s the special guesting of Nina Guerrero (Yan’s girlfriend Mia’s daughter) and Eonboy (Ely’s son) - they sing “Teacher’s pet!” repeatedly at the end of the track. Can’t miss it. Also, the drums are NASTEH.
We’ve all heard Sala right?
I’ll leave you to your interpretations. Disconnection Notice is a dunk track (punk + dance) - I found myself dancing to it pagdating nung “Turn off the lights now! Turn off the lights now!” part. Haha!
Bato is the only other soft melody in the album and also written by Diane. It’s relaxing and could’ve been the perfect ending to the album, if not for…
Set Me Apart, Animax’s official song. Grabe, nakaka-miss talaga si Bogs. I really enoyed listening to his crazy drum beats and I replayed the video in my mind.
All in all, Wildlife is a satisfying record - worth my P280 (VAT included). At first you might not like some tracks, or prefer Beautiful Machines (yeah, I used to like Dulo ng Dila better than Sumasabay), but after a few spins, you’ll find yourself familiarizing with the tunes. It’s unique, not to be compared with their previous efforts. Also, the factors that contributed to the happy aura of this album are probably Jerome Velasco (yeah, The Mongols) who worked with them again, and new drummer Wendell Garcia. He’s the best choice, really…but personally? I prefer Bogs.
And Pupil will always be Pupil, not the Mongols, nor the Eraserheads. Just…Pupil.
And for fans, that is very good news. :)

I was going to write a novelette about a girl, from her childhood upto adolescence (maybe even adulthood, but I’m still looking into that). Her college will be UP (University of the Philippines) where I also plan to study in - if I pass the damned entrance exam. I asked Raims and Markus Highway about the good ol’ days back when they were studying in UP with Ely and Buddy. Raims hasn’t replied yet, which is understandable, since he’s out with <S>andwich shooting their first video. Markus hasn’t too, but I expect he will in a couple of days.
Now we’re talking! I’m seriously thinking about buying a domain, 2 months after Kryz poked me to. At first, I was thinking of signing up at TehLove but I’m hesitant about using PayPal (it’s dangerous; besides, I use my mom’s credit card xD) so I decided to settle with a Philippine domain provider instead.
At TehLove, you pay for the hosting and you get a free domain, courtesy of Kya. Now I’m plannning to buy a domain, and then get hosted for free by someone/thing. The 4 choices right now are RegisterPhil, PhilHosting, DomainPhil, Web and CheaperThanCheap Domains. Please help me choose!
Dok’s fixed his computer and properly reformatted it…by himself! Yehey!
By the by, ‘Ismyuski?’ is just a jumble of syllables…for ‘Excuse Me?’ And please suggest/comment on PUPILCITY!!! </shameless advertising>

Or so I declare. Things have been getting better and better today!
First things first, Marie and Mayel are celebrating their birthday’s simultaneously this 29th, in Glorietta. Finally, a chance for the Reckless Kickouts to get back out together! I missed Rafael, Ian AND Marie. Besides, Ely their new sissy friend is coming along, and I just HAVE to torment her! I love teasing sissies.
I just wish Pablo was there too, so I can watch Ian writhe. Hah!
Also, I got a little humiliated during Music period, but that was just as well. At least I’ve got something interesting to tell my friends about, don’t I?
I also got through THE without a single scratch, although my ego was badly bruised when Denise didn’t tell me that we were going to report all together. At first, I thought it was only her, then when our other groupmates started joining her in front, Alysa and I panicked but we had no way to go there and talk.
The Pupil fansite is coming along very nicely. Please critique!
Diego mah mehn got his own computer (nagnakaw nga ng Wi-Fi. Hehe!) and is able to post to the <S> headquarters as soon as Mongsters and Maps got him connected. I can tell Mei’s wild with enthusiasm, but you just gotta admire her self-control.
Reading the Thorn Birds, even if mom didn’t allow me too. I can imagine Father Ralph de Bricassart as either Angelo the Seminarian or Raffy the Pianist. Scary. Luke sucks major time. I’m in the Fee part now.
Also, Sir Rayms and me got together and patched things up…a bit. I still abhor him, but less than before. I think I can tolerate an inch of him now, thank God.
To end this wonderful post, GERARD GOT MARRIED! To my favorite LinZ of Mindless Self Indulgence, no less. Thank God it’s not Eliza Cuts.
I’d love seeing the two of ‘em together now. At least he’s got someone to lean on.

Okay, I’m done! Presenting…Kathang-Isip. I’ve been dying to set up this site since last week and now that I have, I’m pretty happy with it. I love the layout, too!
E-drama again over at Jem’s. Sneaky tut people. xD Just kidding.
Anyways, mom and I went over to the opening of Scholastic’s book fair at our school. I bought a Shel Silverstein book, Falling Up, and I paid P600 for it (or roughly $12)…or rather, mom did. I’m going to pay her this Sunday because I’m saving up my allowance for Pupil’s and Sandwich’s separate albums, which are going to be released this or next month. Hooray!

Yes, I am a shopaholica, as good pal Raimund Marasigan terms it. I don’t have money (or so I claim) but mom, my sister and I went to Megamall to buy shoes/sandals. I wanted a pair of Pony chucks, but mom didn’t want to buy them for me cause they cost a lot, in her opinion. I couldn’t argue since I didn’t bring my money. Hehe. So I ended up with a pair of normal black-and-white slippers.
We went eating in Shakey’s. It was right beside Sushi-Ya, and guess who was there? My old school mate Justine! It was her birthday and me and my friends were planning to ambush her house that day, but we found out they’d left. So we greeted her. She was laughing so hard and so were we! We weren’t expecting to see her there, but hey.
Also met a new friend named Marco Van. He’s based in the US and he’s really cool. We *bonded* over rock music. He’s pretty cool too!
I bought two new CDs: Cambio’s Cambiomatic (can’t stop listening to Bulimic and Totoy Boogie…good job Raimund!) and Sandwich’s Thanks to the Moon’s Gravitational Pull. To everyone abroad, these are Filipino bands.
Aloha-loha, Milkyway!!!

Yes, that’s the word for today, because I’ve achieved a lot of things…unexpected achievements, yes, but achievements all the same.
First things first, Enzo One is awesome as hell. He scanned the FHM articles for us Circusfreaks and also typed out (or copied and pasted from hell-knows-where) the CURSOR articles of Mr. Buendia. Hooray! The only things lacking are the dates when they were published on Manila Bulletin. Sayang. But I downloaded Sound Checks I and II from his site (his ‘radical’ experimentations on guitars, percussion, and synths) to show I appreciated. I enjoyed the short soundtracks, definitely. Enzo, you really need to find that singer…quick! :))
Also, I emailed Raims to ask him about his UP days. It’s for a story, but partly also because I want him to open up. Lots of people have been saying that the Eraserheads members have no people skills, but I don’t believe that’s true, after watching Oscar Oida interview them. Man, was that one heck of an interview! I still watch it up to now.
Also, I’ve finished all my assignments, and am done with cursing my Algeb teacher to hell, so I bid you all a goodnight and sweet dreams.
SPOILER!!! Dahil pasaway si Enzo!
The title of Pupil’s new album is Wild Life. Their first single, Set Me Apart (Animax Asia’s theme song), reached numbah one on NU107’s Stairway to Seven. Their second single, Sala, is out now…on NU107, no less. Vote, vote!
